That’s a wrap! Ok, now that we have got that bad, but irresistible, pun out of the way, it is time to reflect on another year in the books at Eco Fishing Shop. First, we have to give our heartfelt thanks to all of you. It’s cliche, but no business exists without its customers. The best part of our job is sharing the experience alongside you.
Our goal is to provide each customer with more than a purchase. We want to be your one-stop kayak fishing shop. This means working harder to be more than just a kayak and accessory retailer. Knowledge, support, customer service and collaborating with other kayak anglers are what takes a small business and makes it a community.
2023 brought many new resources to Eco Fishing Shop and its customers. Let’s reflect on some of the highlights from the year and look ahead to a 2024 focused on reeling in even bigger goals (not apologizing for this pun).
As our business continues to grow, we continue to add more and more vendors to our selection. 2023 saw the addition of multiple new brands our customers were asking us for. Here are the new brands that joined Eco Fishing Shop's lineup in 2023:
Perception & Wilderness Systems
By customer request, Eco Fishing Shop added many of Perception and Wilderness Systems' kayaks and accessories to the vast options we already offer.

Newport Vessels
Freedon on the water. With a growing demand for motorizing fishing kayaks, Eco Fishing Shop added Newport next-gen electric motors to the after-market options for kayak motors.

Neptvn
In 2023, Eco Fishing Shop became the only dealer in the United States for the Italy based NEPTVN inflatable boat.

With more and more electronics and motors becoming available to fishing kayaks, we wanted to offer additional options for powering those electronics. In 2023, we launched Hooked! The Kayak Anglers Resource. Both an online community forum and our in-house Podcast, the Kayak Anglers Resource was launched to help connect kayak anglers to one-another to share their experiences and help the sport grow. Our goal for 2023 was to expand everything. More kayaks, more community-focused outreach and more content. We put forth an effort to deliver YouTube content that was both fun and educational. Here are a few of our favorites from the year:
2023 marked year two of the Big Bass 250 – a kayak-only fishing tournament with HUGE payouts and even bigger giveaways. Catering to the kayak angler, the Big Bass 250 is a bass fishing tournament for all levels of experience. With a guaranteed $10,000 payout for biggest bass caught, you are always one cast away from taking home a huge payout.
Year two saw more than $30,000 in giveaways alone, including fishing kayaks, motors, trailers, and tons of accessories. 2023 also saw angler participation grow to 117 anglers. Outside of Missouri, Nebraska showed up strong in the tournament. Chris Longshore took first place and biggest bass for a total of $15,000 in winnings.
Hooked! podcast hosts, Johnathan and Travis, recap the 2023 Big Bass 250 and why they have heard from anglers that 2024 will be closer to the 250 anglers the tournament is aimed at reaching.
